Announcing the X-Files Blog-a-Thon: July 20-26

So, as it turns out, almost all of us are completely swamped this summer, so you may have to wait until the fall to get your SDD fix daily. That doesn't mean that we can't run a Blog-a-Thon and force all of you to generate our content, though!

Now, with Hillary Clinton losing, maybe America isn't as ready for '90s nostalgia as Fox hopes it is, but we're ready for it here at SDD, as we greet the grimly smiling faces of Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny with something approaching rapture. And we're looking for YOUR thoughts on the dynamic duo and/or the monsters they faced down. We don't particularly care if you like the show (we know many of you don't). We just want your thoughts and ideas on the show, its actors, its individual episodes and anything else you can think of. When you're done with your post, you can post it at your blog and link us to it. If you don't have a blog, you can just send us a Word document, and we'll post it here with your name in a byline.

The Blog-a-Thon will run as a build-up to the movie, released July 25, and will ideally conclude with my review OF said movie. Any and all are welcome to participate, and any and all are invited to say whatever they like about the show.

If you're already planning on participating, drop us a line or post a comment. We'll be waiting.

At first, I was sure you were going to post a link to another Blog-a-Thon (the theme seemed too easy for me to have gotten to first, even though my Googling skills said otherwise), but that link pretty much just makes a Blog-a-Thon superfluous!

If only I could find the disc that has my paper from graduate school. If I'm remembering correctly (it was 1999!) it was entitled "From Skeptic to Believer: The Evolution of Characterization on The X-Files."

Dorky. I know!

So is Fox running an X-Files marathon next week? Or do you just want people to write about episodes they remember?

Hey I found a X-files trailer cut by one of composers who actually worked on the original X-files movie trailer. You need to see the version he came up with. I like this one better than the one Fox released. Here is the link.
